The 2010 Iowa State Fair Parade this year is on Wednesday August 11th at 6:15pm. The parade starts at the State Capitol and marches west on Grand to 15th Street. A viewing area accessible to disabled persons is located at the northwest corner of Sixth Avenue and Grand. Highlights of the gala event will be re-broadcast on parade night throughout central Iowa on KDSM FOX 17 beginning at 9:35 p.m.
The IA4WDC has been in this parade for the last 3 years and this is the largest parade in Iowa. I am going to list 20 rigs again for this year (running 2 rows side by side). Line up is usually around 5:30pm in a parking lot near the capital.
We CANNOT hand out/throw candy at this parade. I am dividing the spots up so each club gets 4 spots. Let me know how many from your club are able to attend by posting here or PM me and if more spots become available I will let everyone know.
Thanks,
Coleman
We are number 115 and will be lining up in the parking lot on the east side of the capital building. We can start lining up anytime after 4:30pm with the parade starting at 6:30pm.
